When will version 8 be updated?

Looking to get a WIP Version 8 out by August time. At the moment the following will come as part of Version 8:

• Aspect ratio repositioning

• Drag items directly onto the timeline

• Big timeline improvements:

  • Item snapping

  • Drag/push logic (items shift to make space)

  • Add new item rows by dragging

  • Delete rows

  • Automatically remove empty rows

• Zoom control (no more fixed zoom levels)

• Multi-select on the timeline (including drag-to-select)

• History log to track save activity

• Tailwind CSS v4 upgrade with a big focus on whitelabeling — ideally, you’ll be able to change one file and completely restyle RVE

• Video scrubbing

• Background removal for images

• Replace media directly — no more deleting and re-adding clips, images, or sounds

• PWA support — install RVE on your phone like an app

• Improved keyboard shortcuts

• New settings panel

• General performance boosts and bug fixes
